I have been to Toronto many times, but this time I am staying at the above hotel which I know nothing about - any comments or info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:
I spent about 2 months there in the spring of '97 and then a week last summer.
I really like the hotel and would stay there more frequently but I get more useful points for the Hilton (~3 blocks away) where we get the same corporate rate.
From a location perspective its right behind city hall bust off Dundas. So close proximity to the Eaton Centre and the rest of downtown. It has 2 great resturants (but their pricy), one of which has the best Chinese food in Toronto. If your looking for more economical Chinese food, 'The Garden' resturant on the corner with Dundas has great food.
The only negative comment I would have is that while the rooms are beautifully decorated, they tend to be somewhat small without much closet space. When I did my 2 month stint there in '97 though after the 2nd or 3rd week I was generally upgraded to a much larger room or suite which was amazing.

Hi Kayeb,
I stayed at the Metropolitan 2 years ago and would not go back. It's overpriced for what you get: a very small room, windows in need of cleaning, mediocre service and not the greatest locaction. For the price you can do much better in Toronto.
