Maritimes Itinerary

Jump to last reply

We depart in less than a week for a driving/camping tour of New England and the Maritimes with our 3 kids. We will make our way from our home in TN through the northeast, and arrive in Maine on July 5. Our plan is to depart Old Orchard Beach, ME on July 7 and cross into NB at Calais, then we will have our first hotel night of the trip in Saint John. We will then drive to Baddeck for a 2 night camping stay and then backtrack to a campground outside Pictou for 2 more nights before returning to Maine (Acadia). I have a friend who wants us to visit her in Halifax, and I am trying to decide how to work a ferry trip to PEI into the mix. Also..whale watching? Would it be worth it to take the ferry to Grand Manan for several hours on the way to Saint John since we don't have to hurry to put up the camper? It intrigues me. Also, would we have time to do PEI any justice with a half day visit? Our trip isn't set in stone, but I do have reservations.
