Looking for Tavel Companion

I will be traveling to the Yukon area this fall (2005) for the 14th time, following the Klondike Gold Rush history. From Skagway Alaska, through Whitehorse, to Dawson City, maybe up to the Arctic Circle and I am looking for a travel companion to share the experience with, preferably female. I have visited many of the wonderful sites in Alaska, Yukon, NWT and Northern BC, so I know the area well.

It's an area that interests me, although I'm not free this autumn. But for people who might be able to come with you, I think it would be helpful to know your gender, how long you plan to be on the road, your method of travel...

I am a male and planning to drive up the Alaska highway. My intentions are to travel for two weeks, but I can arrange for a longer period. Most other plans or arrangements depend upon any travel campanion and what they are looking for on such an adventure.

There are forums and web sites that specialize in matching up solitary travellers with each other. One that I've heard about is Travel Chums at:

http://www.travelchums.com/

If you do an Internet search for TRAVEL COMPANION or a similar term, you'll probably find other web sites that specialize in that service.

It also wouldn't hurt to try Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree forum if you haven't already done so.

Thanks Judy. I am already posted on TravelChums, but I will check out other sites.
