Looking for a cabin (1BR or Studio w/kitchen). Would like riverfront (or mountain view). Want to totally get away (end of September). Any suggestions?

Takara Lodge might do the trick. location is river side, out of town and if I remembver correctly less $$ than Becker's. Late Sept. weather can be a crap shoot so layers are called for and toque and gloves. If you don't need them great but if you do you will be very happy to have them.

Tekkara Lodge, Alpine Village, Jasper House, Beckers and Pine Bungalows are all located on riverfront. The Fairmont Japser Park Lodge, Patricia Lake Bungalows and Pyramid Lake Resort are all on lake shores. www.jasper.travel should have listings and web links for all of those.
It is very unlikely that you will need a toque and gloves in September in the Rockies unless you plan on doing some high elevation hiking. I keep those in my hiking pack all through the summer and have used them in every month of the summer for hiking (but never in town). Mountain weather can change quickly, especially at higher elevations. Layered clothing is the way to go, since the range of temperatures through the day can be quite large.
Takara Lodge Sept.17th, 2012...9AM elk on the road, ducks on the river and mitts on the hands. Even as I am a Northern Canadian the mitts and scarf felt very good. Had a hoodie so the toque was not needed. Not a wintery cold by any means but pretty chilly anyhow!! Be prepared for any kind of weather..even unusually warm days lead to cool/cold nights..
