DH and I are overnighting en route from Kelowna to Salmon Arm toward the end of March. We arrive early one day, pick up the car and are not due in SA until noon the following. At first, we were just going to follow the path of least resistance and hang out in Kelowna. Then I wondered if there was a more interesting but still budget-wise approach.
Attractive ski resort? Mission Hills Winerey (or another) worth a visit? Other must-sees?
Kelowna, briefly-Side Trip? Accomodation?

Kelowna to Salmon Arm is only about 90 minutes. Between the two cities is Vernon that doesn't have much to offer in the Winter / early Spring. I expect the Vernon and Kelowna ski hills will still be operating but I have never been and so have no comment. There will be good accommodations up at the ski resorts. The Mission Hill winery and several others are close to Kelowna in Westbank and there are some others close by, south of Kelowna on the Kelowna side. There are enough to make a day trip. Also, north of Kelowna, heading out to Salmon Arm is Gray Monk Winery which has a good restaurant with an excellent view. Here is a site for general OK wineries http://www.okanaganwines.ca/
Thanks lunabug...anyone know what the ski resort is called?
The ski resort near Kelowna is Big White bigwhite.com and the resort near Vernon is Silverstar skisilverstar.com
