Ile d'Orléans & Côte-de-Beaupré - getting around on day trips

I will be in Quebec City for a week in September. Would like to take a day trip to Ile d'Orleans. I don't really want to rent a car. I believe that PLUmobile has transportation to the island. Is there public transport on the island? How else can one get around? Or is Saint-Pierre enough?

Same with Côte-de-Beaupré.
