How to travel East Coast in 7 days
Okay so here it is: myself, a friend, and my 5yo son are travelling to the east coast in late August 2016. Flying into Halifax, have yet to book a return flight but are flexible about departure city. Obviously will be renting a car. Would like to see the major attractions of Atlantic Canada. We're excluding NL from this trip, so just NS, NB, and PE. Not counting our arrival and departure days we have 7 full days. Looking for itinerary suggestions or things that are ok to skip and see another time.
*Not interested in museums, historical sites suggestions - not that I don't want to see them I just don't want to bore my son half to death*
We absolutely can not extend our trip and know we will be in the car a fair bit, that said we'd also like to relax and enjoy the scenery. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thank you!

You should mos def go to Quebec City.
It's not more than a 10 mile drive to NYC... They call it Paris West!
Here's a cool guide I used to the different towns in and around the city http://quebeccity101.com/category/places-and-towns/
