How much time to tour Bay of Fundy from NB?
We will be in NB in June and want to spend some time visiting the Bay of Fundy sites. We want to make sure we have time to experience it all, but without overkill. We are planning to arrive in the Hopewell Rocks area late in the day, spend two nights somewhere around there -- so we can see Hopewell Rocks at high and low tide and also visit Cape Enrage lighthouse, then drive on to the Fundy National Park and Fundy Trail with an overnight in St. Martins, and then on to Saint John to catch the ferry. Is that too much time in the area???? Any recommendations on where to stay would be appreciated -- we are a family of 3 (2 adults and a 12-year-old). Thank you.

We stayed in Alma last year and toured Hopewell Rocks and Bay of Fundy National Park from there. Really liked Alma. We stayed at the Parkland Village Inn - http://www.parklandvillageinn.com/ very clean, and the restaurant was pretty good.
The day we went to the park, we picked up all the fixings for a lobster roll from a little take out place right by the bridge, it was a great picnic!

Because of the timing of the tides, is two days enough time to see Hopewell Rocks, Cape Enrage, Fundy National Park, and Sea Caves are of St. Martins? It seems most people do it in a day -- are we spending too much time there? We are nature lovers, but not hikers, rock climbers, etc.
Also, noting that we are not an active family, do you think a kayak trip would be worth it? It knocks out a big chunk of the day so I would only want to do it if it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, especially for a 12-year-old girl.
Thanks.

... well we don't know...
Why don't you compare your travel dates to the TIDE TABLES?:

I realize the time of the trip has passed, but in case others considering the Bay of Fundy are here, I would recommend far longer (like at least two weeks) if at all possible. Yes, indeed for sure include time for The Rocks, Fundy National Park, and Cape Enrage Lighthouse (which would amount to needing at least a few days). But if at all possible add some time for St. Martins and the Fundy Trail drive/walk, and also some time on the Fundy islands (such as Grand Manan), the upper bay (e.g. region around Sackville NB) and the region in Nova Scotia where the tides are highest actually (Burntcoat Head and the fantastic region around Parrsboro). Also, if possible, the Digby region is fantastic. I actually put together a 15 must see locations on the Bay of Fundy in my blog - at http://bayfundy.blogspot.com/2010/11...checklist.html. Have a fantastic Bay of Fundy vacation! Bob
