Hotel near Stanley Parc
We will be in Vancouver for 3 nights end of April. Can you recommend a hotel within walking distance to Stanley Parc? I tried to book the Sylvia but there is no availability for those dates. DH has had back surgery so cannot walk far. This is after a train trip Toronto to Vancouver. Our daughter and sil will be joining us so we would like a 2 bedroom suite or two rooms. Thank you.

Take a look at the O'Canada House. We stayed there last year and absolutely loved it! We walked to the Blu Horizon Hotel, where there was a stop for the hop on hop off trolley, and used that to get around in Stanley Park. That might be a good option for you. Anyway, we loved this inn. We had the huge suite one night, and while it is not separate bedrooms, it had two king beds and tons of room. We were in a regular room the other night. We saw may of the rooms, and they were all unique and really nice. Gourmet breakfast is included, and yes, it was wonderful. We will absolutely stay there again, FWIW.

Well, almost every hotel downtown is within walking distance of Stanley Park, but for somebody recovering from back surgery, perhaps consider simply renting a car for the day you wish to explore Stanley Park - that would make more sense. You can drive around Stanley Park counter clockwise, pulling over at various stops, beaches, and lookouts, go for short walks, and hop back in the car. You pay for parking once, but the parking pass is good for all parking lots within the park (for the amount of time you've paid for).
There are not many hotels like the Sylvia in Vancouver and not many hotels immediately next door to Stanley Park. Next door to the Sylvia is the Best Western Sands, but I'm not sure it's the calibre of hotel you're looking for. There is also the old Buchan Hotel, which is also closeby, but again, not sure it's what you're looking for. There is the Lord Stanley Suites, which may work, but may not suit your budget.
However, since you have a budget, and Vancouver can be expensive, I would simply look at staying somewhere - anywhere - downtown that suits for budget, and spend your savings on renting a car for the day to explore Stanley Park.

Mms, O'Canada House sounds great. I've sent the link to my daughter.
BC_Robyn, renting a car for a day is a good suggestion. We liked the Sylvia because it has great reviews, is budget friendly and is walking distance to lots of places. If DH didn't feel like joining us we would not be too far. He had the surgery one year ago and his recuperation is slow but he was an athlete and is strong.
I'll look at your suggestions. Thank you.

The Coast Plaza on Denham has suites and is quite acceptable.
Buchan is a little nearer the park in a nice residential area. It’s small, a little tired but economical and the staff are great. We choose it when we are minding our budget. Some rooms have shared bath. No restaurant but plenty nearby.
We also like Times Square Suites when we aren’t pinching pennies quite so tightly.
