Mexico? Hawaii? Florida? Portugal? Australia? What's everyone doing this year?

I haven't decided because it's not cold enough here. Yet.

I never leave during winter... I live in Vancouver, I'm 22, and I'm too poor to have that kind of luxury at the moment. Nevertheless, if I had a lot of money to spend, I'd probably go to Belgium or France.

Mexico - a night in Mexico City, a couple of nights in Puerto Vallarta, then a week in Sayulita. We plan to finish up with a few days in the Melaque area. It's mild enough here in Toronto right now, but today is grey and dull - I love winter getaways.

Heading to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Rates for Mexico are a lot less than Jamaica (where I was last year). Looking forward to that first gush of hot air when we land.

Don't feel bad Robyn. I couldn't afford to travel until I was 30. Your chance will come!

By far the best deal for a winter get away is Cuba. Its about half the cost of Hawaii or Mexico, has fabulous beaches, resorts, history, and people. They treat Canadians like royalty ( they like our tourist bucks and Americans arent allowed to go).
Pretty good cigars, too, if you are into that!

We are off to Mexico in February. I must agree that it sure hasn't felt like winter around here yet, not even really feeling like Christmas yet because we have no snow!

Hi - just came back from a week in Cuba (last week of Nov) and though it's the end of their rainy season we had enough beautiful days to enjoy the beach. Stayed at the Melia Cayo Guillermo for two grand for 2 flying out of Toronto. 5 star resort and the food was good given that it's Cuba.
In January headed to St. Martin for 2 weeks to the Hotel Mont Vernon - pretty good package including 8 days car rental and 8 dinners off the resort, etc.

Last Christmas was in Puerta Vallarta and year before we were in Hawaii. This year decided to stay home for a change due to lots of expenses this year. This doesn't mean I'm not keeping checking the internet for any last minutes deals though. It is great to get away somewhere warm at christmas.

Why not vacation in Canada? I'll be going to Kimberley in January and Jasper in February. Cuba's okay but the skiing is lousey. When I want to go some place warm, I go to the Kootenays. It's beautiful in summer.

Going to Hawaii (Oahu). Originally we were going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Cheaper than Hawaii, but my Aunt is getting older and wasn't sure that she wasnted to go Mexico.

It's hard to leave here at all, but we may go to the Dominicon Republic, because I found a golf course there( on the web) that sounds like it's worth the trip. Meanwhile, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

I am posted to St. John's, Newfoundland for the year and we had been toying with the idea of going to Florida. But last week my husband had the occasion to visit Labrador on business and was enchanted.

We will be spending a romantic Valentine's Day (week) in Churchill Falls/Labrador City/ Happy Valley/Goose Bay. Hubby said if I failed to see the mighty Churchill River in winter, watch the caribou grazing beside the highway and racing the cars or missed the Aurora Borealis (northern lights), I would regret it evermore. So-o-o off we go...

We just returned from a 10 day trip to Maui.Paradise on earth-sunny and 85 the whole time. Came back to Winnipeg where it was warm and still green and a day later we had a dump of snow.White Christmas after all. Highly recommend Maui-even with the exchange on the US dollar, it is sooo worth it-great people, beautiful beaches and scenery and best of all you are still in the good ol' United States not a third world country where you can't leave your resort. We are going back every year. Happy Christmas holidays to all!!
