We are planning a 7-day trip to Nova Scotia in the beginning of August. Thinking about staying the first 3 nights in Halifax and seeing that city, perhaps a day trip to Peggy's Cove and/or Lunenberg. Then we were thinking about heading up to PEI for 3 days/2 nights, then returning to Halifax for the last day. Does this sound realistic/reasonable? We're thinking that we'd stay in Charlottetown while in PEI -- any lodging suggestions? Thanks very much!

Lunenburg is only an hour away from the city, however,it is highly recommended you take the day and drive along the coast stopping in Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay, Chester, etc.
If you want to see more while travelling to and from PEI, take the bridge one way and the ferry back. Summerside in PEI is a very picturesque spot to relax. Pictou, after you leave the Caribou Ferry, has a wonderful little town with a waterfront. From Pictou, you are less than 2 hours into Halifax and about 1.5 from the airport. Spend a night here and you won't be disappointed. All kinds of B&B's - Evening Sail, The Consulate Inn, Braeside Inn, etc. to choose from
