Free (really free) medical clinic in Montreal?
I need to see a doctor about my skin in Montreal. I have a BC care card, and valid provincial BC health insurance. I don't have personal insurance, or Quebec insurance. What free health clinic should I visit in Montreal? Thx.

Are you planning to stay in Quebec - if so, can't you apply for a Quebec card but I suppose there's a waiting period. Could you pay for the visit, get a receipt and be reimbursed by B.C. Health?
When my son with the Ontario health card cut his arm while visiting his brother with the Quebec health card, he used his brother's Quebec card to go to Emergency for stitches.
Or dress down and go to a homeless shelter - they might have a doctor or nurse around. In Toronto, a bus travels around at night attending to street people - they don't ask questions.

Advice from MSP's website located at.
http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/msp/infoben/leavingbc.html
When travelling in Quebec or outside of Canada, you will probably be required to pay for your medical services and seek reimbursement later from MSP (use an Out of Country Claim Form).
B.C. residents are strongly advised to purchase additional health insurance when travelling to other Canadian provinces to cover the cost of services not included in the reciprocal agreement between provinces.
The problem I see here is that a change of dressing would be to a pre-existing condition, for which private insurance would probably not cover.
Gotta love how you use an 'out of country' form for a claim in Quebec.

As no one has been able to provide you with a "really free" clinic, you should probably try a nurses hotline, pharmacist, etc. and just describe the problem to them for a quick remedy. Then when you are back home, go in and have it checked out in person.

There is no such thing as "free" health care. There's only health care paid for by others - either because you're part of a group that the society deems it appropriate to help ie the poor and the elderly or because someone has chosen to give it away to promote their business or to a friend. Or because someone scams it.
