I have heard a lot of stories about long waits for the ferry from PA to Victoria especially on weekends. We will be leaving Victoria on a Friday morning head back to Port Angeles. Can anyone tell me if there will be a problem catching an early morning ferry going to PA?

We took the ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles three years ago. We were in a small RV. After the last ferry had left, the evening before they allowed us to park our vehicle in line ready to load the next morning. We slept in our RV and were ready to go the next morning. The same should work with a car. Happy travelling.
What month, Cindy? We put our car in line at about 7 AM for the 10:30 AM sailing and were ok, but just barely. This was in July a few years ago.
We will be there the middle of July leaving a Friday morning. Thanks for the tip, we'll try to be there early!
The Coho employees have a good idea what to expect. Call the day before and see if they'll let you park there overnight or at least they'll let you know when to be there in the morning.
A friday in July. You will want to call them on Thursday but be prepared to have your car in line by 5:00 pm Thursday. It is not a problem if you choose one of the many nearby hotels to stay at. The parking lot is secure so you only have to cary your toothbrush with you. You need to be there at 6:00 am.Oh and buy breakfast the night before. The food on the Koho is horrible.
Do you mean you have to be in line the night before to catch the 6:00 a.m. ferry? What hotels are directly adjacent to the ferry landing? Thanks for your help.
I am going to post a url to a site I found using a search for 'accomodations BC'. The first one on the list was 'www.victoriabc.com' This is a commercial advertising site so is not an exhaustive list, only those willing to pay them. It does have a map showing the 'US Ferries' that you can print with locations of some hotels. I have no connection with this site and just offer it as a 'for instance'.
