Desolation Sound Weather and Water?
I've been investigating a kayak trip in British Columbia. I'm looking for expert advice on the Desolation Sound area. Is it really as warm and sunny (quasi Mediterranean climate?) as indicated on the website of some of the outfitters? Does the water temps really get as warm as 72 degrees? What time of year has the best conditions for a kayak trip? Is this fine weather and warm water temps peculiar to Desolation Sound or do other areas of the Sunshine Coast/Gulf Island have similar conditions? Does anyone have recommendations for a high end tour group that provides good food and the most comfortable accomodations to sample the coastal waters of BC by kayak?

Comfortable accommodations rules out camping altogether, a mothership operation like these might suit.
