We stayed at the Polar Inn, which was OK. The Seaport Hotel looked better. I don't know about the others. Most of the hotels were 1 story, a few had 2 stories.
We were at the Seaport Motel for an early November polar bear trip with NatHab. Considering the location (remote Churchill)it was ok. Typical rooms, but the beds were comfortable and the dining room was quite good. The bathroom was chilly, thin towels, etc. but all in all, probably one of the better places. Near the supermarket, also. In the lobby they have a computer for the use of guests--it was very popular!
How was the polar bear sighting this year?
The bear sighting was fairly good, but all males. It was quite warm (close to 30F daytime) for the bears. At the polar bear jail we saw a mother and 2 cubs relocated via helicopter. The most we saw at a time was probably 8 young adult males. It was our first trip there and we loved it. Also saw the northern lights one evening.
I just noticed the date on the original post--here I am, 2 years later responding!
I stayed at the Tundra Inn in October and I thought it was comfortable. I had dinner at the Lazy Bear and it looks nice. I did a trip report which is somewhere on the Canada branch (with photos).
