Christmas week at Tremblant!

Hi,
We went to Tremblant last year on Holiday. Christmas week is a very popular and busy period at Tremblant. It also is peak season for rates.
There is a decent variety of hotel and condo properties in the village. Most are quite convenient to the lifts, but aren't true ski-in/ski out. You would have to walk a bit--sometimes up the steps on the pedestrian street--and carry your skis and poles. Ski classes, by the way, meet at the base of the mountain near the gondola and adjacent to the condo building known as Le Sommet des Neiges.
TRUE SKI-IN/SKI-OUT. Four choices in the village are: the Fairmont Hotel, Le Sommet des Neiges, Le Lodge de la Montagne and Le Johannsen. PLEASE NOTE: Johannsen is just one of the buildings managed by Les Suites Tremblant under the name La Place Saint-Bernard. If you book through them, insist that you require ski-in/ski-out; not all of their buildings are. [Johannsen is as close the lifts as it is possible to be; out the door on the gondola!] The Fairmont, Le Sommet and Lodge de la Montagne are almost as close, but a bit more removed from the crowds around Johannsen, as the slopeside of the Johannsen building contains the lift ticket office, a small cafe and a store or two.
Hilton Homewood Suites and the Westin arent' true ski-in/ski-out, but are only 2 or 3 minutes' walk from the lifts. Of the two, the Hilton is marginally more convenient. Across the street from Le Sommet des Neiges is the more economical Condos la Chouette, not ski-in/ski out, but convenient.
Other, slightly less convenient choices: Hotel Quintessence, Le Bondurant, Country Inns and Suites, Ermitage du Lac, Residence Inn and Tour des Voyageurs; all are in the village. Residence Inn is "sort of" ski-in/ski-out in that you can ski-in, but to do the ski-out part, have to walk 50 yards or so to the Cabriolet stand-up lift (a "people mover" from the lower village to the base of the mountain. Tour des Voyageurs is adjacent to the Cabriolet. If you stay at Tour des Voyageurs, you would take the Cabriolet to and from the lifts at the base of the mountain. For the other properties mentioned, your choices would be to walk up to the lifts or down to the Cabriolet.
Finally, there are many slopeside condos just outside of the pedestrian village, but still part of the resort. They are in the area known as Le Domaine de la Foret. Some--but again not all--of these buildings have true ski-in/ski-out facilities. The three buildings of L'Equinoxe West, for example, offer the ability to walk out of the heated garage directly onto a ski access trail leading to the base of the mountain and to return to the buildings directly from the slopes. So it is all ski, all the way.
All of the condo complexes in the Domaine de la Foret offer free shuttle bus service (ski racks on the outside of the shuttles) to and from Le Sommet des Neiges as well as to and from the lower village.
