Cape Breton Puffin and Whale tours
Hello,
We are planning a trip to Cape Breton during the Celtic Colors fest Oct. 7 - 15. Would like to include a whale watching or puffin boat tour on our itinerary. Can anyone advise if their migrations are seasonal? Are certain months better than others for sightings? Also, are there any tours that feature both of these creatures?
Thank you,
Ellie

The only bird island tour company I remember is Donelda's Puffin Tours out of Englishtown CB, which we enjoyed immensely. However, the seabirds' nesting season on those islands runs only through August so they will be long gone by the time you are there. The tours offered later in the season promise seals and eagles only.

The whalewatch tours are mostly out of the towns on the north of CB; some of them do operate until mid-October.
We just returned from our first trip to NS, and have vowed to go back in several years to experience that marvelous province in the fall. You'll have a wonderful time there.

There are 2 puffin boat tours here on the island 1 Donalds in Englishtown and 2 Bird Island boats tours located by the seal island bridge both are good companies as for whale watching I would suggest whesleys whale watching out of pleasent bay hes the only compnay howho has a money back policy if you don't see a whale. N there are no company thast offers combined tour for this due to the location of the bird islands hope this helps.
