Cape Breton Island and Nova Scotia
We're planning a week trip to Nova Scotia in 2017. We're thinking 2 nights in Halifax will allow us to drive to the Bay of Fundy and also Lunenburg, with time to explore Halifax. From there we'd like to drive to Baddeck for 2 nights and then to Inverness for 1-2 nights at Cabot Links for a day of golf and relaxation. Is there enough to do on Cape Breton if we move at an active pace? We'd like to drive the Cabot Trail which should take a day. Other activities or places you'd recommend? Does this seem like a reasonable, albeit fast, itinerary to get a taste of Nova Scotia? Is the Heritage House B&B a good place to stay in Baddeck?

2 nights in Halifax is really only one day of touring - I don't see how you could fit in Bay of Fundy, Lunenberg and Halifax in that. Just returned from 4 nights in Cape Breton (Baddeck) and 2 nights in Lunenberg.
Didn't see the Heritage House in Baddeck but we loved the Worn Door Step - reasonable, clean spacious studio accommodation (with frig, micro, toaster, etc) for $75/night.

One day to drive the complete Trail is fine so long as you don't plan to do many (any?) hikes. The sunset trail is beautiful but does require some time. And if you're only two nights in Baddeck that's pretty much all you'll have time to do depending upon what time you get to Baddeck the first day. There is an interesting museum dedicated to Alexander Graham Bell in Baddeck - 90 minute or so visit is reasonable.
