We are travelling to Canmore in late June. We are looking for some tips on restaurants to go to (not too expensive).
Also, as I have been surfing the net, I have read about a new hotel that has kitchenettes called Falcon Crest Lodge. Has anyone heard of this hotel? Is it too close to the Transcanada highway (noisy). We plan on staying in Canmore for approximately 5 days. Should we reserve before we go or can we wait until we get there?
Thanks for the information.

We have never stayed at Falcon Crest Lodge, although we have heard radio adverts for it on a local (meaning Edmonton) ethnic program. If it's new, it might be nice.
Another place to consider is Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge - very basic but clean and comfortable accommodation at affordable prices. It is on the main "hotel & motel row", and right across the street from a charming restaurant (Sage Bistro).
Other dining options include Quarry Bistro, Grizzly Paw Pub (& micro-brewery), French Quarter Cafe, Sinclairs, and Gasthaus Alphorn Restaurant.
Crazyweed Kitchen has had excellent reviews but it is tiny and we have never been able to get in for a meal (maybe next time. . . . !!).
The one restaurant I would not recommend is Zona Late Night Bistro - we had such terrible service there that will never go back.

I talk about where we stayed and what we ate. It is a great city!
