Canadian Rockies again or SE Alaska for the first time?

We adore the Canadian Rockies. I believe my hubby & I have been 3x over about 10 yrs time.

Feeling 'the pull' yet again, as it's been 5 yrs since we saw this area in Fall. Plus, we have the opportunity to take a bit more time, drive from NorCal & explore some parks we also haven't seen in too long - Glacier in the U.S.
and the Grand Tetons.

HOWEVER,
since this is a special time for him (a sabbatical),
we also could consider doing a shortened trip to the Cdn Rockies in addition to a short cruise on the Inside Passage/SE Ak, or...
just skip the Canada part & do an Alaskan Cruise. (we've already done our own tour of Denali, Wrangell, Kenai Peninsula, etc. 7 yrs ago) So would be more interested in cruising/exploring the SE part.

But not sure where to start to find the smallest boat option available. And also whether this is best saved for late Spring vs. going in late Sept? (too late)
We'll have about 3 weeks or less w/my avail. vacation hrs limiting us.

Would welcome any votes here!! :-)
Will SE Ak just look a lot like Tofino & the islands we love in the NW? (San Juans & Gulf?) Thanks!!
