Canadian passport question.......

Hi everyone, need some info please. Does anyone know if a Canadian citizen can still just use an expired Canadian passport(expired by less than a week) to re-enter Canada from the U.S.?
Thank you!

Doesn't sound like a good idea these days but maybe they won't notice the date.

Depends if you're travelling by plane or not. I don't think it will be accepted at the airport, but if you have other ID, including photo ID, and you're travelling by car when you cross the border, it will probably be OK.

I should clarify, returning via air to Canada from U.S. Also, will have Canadian drivers license in addition to expired Canadian passport.

Thanks again!

a driver's license only means you can drive in Canada, it's not a proof of citizenship.

You cannot use an expired passport.

Sadly ssf14 expired means expired. Think of the Monty Python sketch about the expired parrot. I would call the airline and ask them if they will let you board with an expired passport and a valid drivers licence. I would bet their answer will be no.

You may want to check this with Canadian Customs... the initial flap was caused by US Customs for return to the US... Don't know if Canada has same rule in place yet!
