Can I buy No-AD sunscreen in Calgary!?!?

A bit odd this one. We discovered this product range in the US last year and were very impressed by its effectiveness in the desert and the price.

I haven't been able to find it in the UK where I live and was wondering if it is generally available for sale in Canada?

Specifically (and this is getting obscure) is there a pharmacy near to the Sheraton Cavalier Calgary Hotel where I would be able buy some on our first day?

Thanks!

Yes, totally available in Canada. At any drug store or department store.

This brand is not available at my local Shoppers Drug Mart, which is the largest drugstore chain in Canada.

I'm not sure what ist meant by "No-AD". Is that the name of the brand or a type of sunscreen similar to some bug repellants are deet based and some not?

I’ve phoned 4 stores that I thought MIGHT carry No-AD sunscreen.

• Calgary International Airport Pharmacy – This would have been the most convenient, as it’s located right inside the airport complex. They said they did not carry it.

• Shopper’s Drug Mart in Sunridge Shopping Mall, quite near the Sheraton Cavalier. They said they did not carry it.

• Safeway in a neighbourhood called Whitehorn, near the Sheraton Cavalier. This is a supermarket that has a pharmacy (drug store) located in it. They said they did not carry it.

• Wal-Mart – I tried phoning the Wal-Mart closest to the Sheraton Cavalier, the one located at 3400 – 39 Avenue NE, but got no reply from them. Next I phoned another Wal-Mart location, the one in Shawnessy. The woman in the cosmetics department said that her boss had warned her last fall that they would be discontinuing No-AD sunscreen, so she stocked up with a good supply of it to carry her through for a couple of years. She said she was glad she had taken that precaution, as they’ve now run out of it. She said that the choice of which products to carry was not made in their store, but rather at the head office level. So I’m guessing that the Wal-Mart near the Sheraton Cavalier would be in the same situation.

I think your only other recourse is to contact No-AD and ask them if they have any suppliers in Calgary and, if so, who those suppliers are.

By the way, I believe traveller69 was located in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley when she bought No-AD sunscreen. I'm guessing she got it in Penticton.

Postscript.

As a general observation about shopping facilities, the Sheraton Cavalier is located on 32 Avenue NE, which is a fairly main shopping street.

If you go east from there on 32nd Avenue and turn south on another main street called 36th Street NE, you'll soon reach Sunridge Shopping Mall. It's a large, enclosed mall with the usual mix of department stores and smaller stores of all kinds.

Judy - thanks for your efforts above and beyond my expectations. Looks like we will need to get another brand.
