Bond Place Hotel

Is anyone familiar with the Bond Place Hotel at 65 Dundas Street East? I have a reservation for 5 nights in early July for U.S.$445.00 including tax for a double room. Is this a good deal? Any restaurant recommendations in that area would also be appreciated. Thank you.
Cheers,
Danielle

If this is the Hotel I'm thinking of you are way overpaying. You could stay in the very best Hotel in TO for about $4-450 Canadian. Maybe you have the Executive Suite or something but even so....

Gary, thanks for your response. It took me awhile on the internet to find this deal. Everything quoted was over $600-US for that period. It works out to about $83 per night US dollars. I have a 3 day advance cancellation in case we find something better. If you have any hotel suggestions, that would be great.

The room is not an Executive Suite by any means. It has a queen size and double bed. That's about it plus the usual bathroom. Thanks.

We stayed at the Bond Place Hotel two years ago. I was astonished at how very nice it was given the low, low rates. In fact, I had an alternative room booked that could be cancelled until 6PM, just in case. But, the Bond Place was just fine. Room was nicely furnished and comfortable, bathroom was excellent. The location is handy to public transportation, too. For restaurants, check www.tordine.com and Toronto at www.citysearch.com. There are so many, it's difficult to choose.

Danielle, hotel rates in Toronto are all over the map, depending on the dates you want, and the deals that can be made.

I've seen some Priceline quotes that were so low I would not have believed them except that i couldn't figure out why people would lie about them.

Early July is the heart of the tourist season in Toronto, and that rate is right in the ballpark.

There may have been a semantic problem in your posting; note that you are talking about $445US for the entire five days.

Working with insiders at the Delta Chelsea last week, the best rate I could get was $225 Cdn for one night.

You've alreeady been told a bit about the Bond Place.

It's not lavish and the location is not the best in Toronto, but it's within a couple of blocks of what many people could consider the best, and $50 a night less expensive.

Youneed to tell us more about your tastes in order to get restuarnt recommendations. Toronto's one of the best restaurant cities in the world; what doyou want to eat and in what kind of surroundings, and at what price. (You probably can only pick two out of three of the criteria.)

You are several blocks from Oro, one of the best fancy restaurants in town. On the same block is Barbarians, one of Toronto's top two or three (expensive) steakhouses. You're close to a Swiss Chalet, Toronto's best bargain in chicken dinners, and Mr. Greenjeans, one of the best casual restaurants in town, inside the Eaton's Center.

For expensive Asian fusion, you are about four blocks from Hemisphere's in the Metropolitan Hotel.

For great french fries and hotdogs, walk a couple of blocks to the trucks in front of Toronto city hall.

Oh my goodness, Danielle. I thought you were talking $445US per night. $120Can per night for an 'Executive Suite' is probably not outrageous considering the central location of the Bond Place. Course I'm assuming that the 'Suite' is at least a full two rooms at a high (i.e view), level.
