Hi there, we will have 3 weeks going from Vancouver to Rockies in July 2013. We then will have around 10 days free and want to do things on Vancouver Island. I would like to have a few days around Victoria, Salt Spring Island, do a whale watching tour and have heard the boat trip from Port Alberni to Ucluelet (stay a couple of nights there then trip back to Alberni) is really nice.
With the last 5 days, for something totally different from being in the car, I was considering going to Bella Coola for the scenery from the river on the drift rafts (can anyone tell me if the scenery down on the river is quite different from what we will see in the Rockies? ) and the chance to see bears at the river.
Can anyone help me with recommendations for what to do? / tour operators and the scenery around the Mountain Lodge?
Also, is Pacific Air the only way to fly to Bella Coola?
Many thanks
Bella Coola, Atnarko River Drift/float, Vancouver Island
