Hello,
I'm considering staying at the Barclay Hotel on Robson (in Vancouver) and was wondering if it was noisy at night? Should I be concerned since it's only a low rise building? What about general impressions of this hotel? It seems to be quite central to everything with a pretty reasonable price.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Robson Street can be very noisy into the wee hous of the morning. Most hotels in the area have double glazed windows which helps. Although the view would be less attractive I would request a room facing the back lane especially if street noise bothers you. Bar hours in Vancouver are now 4AM closing which could make for very little peace and quiet.
It also depends on the night...weekends are noisier, and if it is a fireworks night....
...except Robson Street isn't exactly the hub of clubs and bars in Vancouver. Sure, it has many busy restaurants and boutiques, but there are no real clubs that stay open until 2am on Robson. I wouldn't worry about the street noise. Unlike cities like New York or Montreal... Robson Street, and Vancouver in general, quiets down at night.
