Banff Area In October

Jump to last reply

A few friends and I are planning a road trip over fall break this year (Oct 12-16th) to the Banff area. I have read that the weather can be quite unpredictable this time of year, getting worse further into the month. Would this week still be a good week to head up there? Or would it be better to go in the summer? We all are dying to make it up to Banff, thinking that fall would be a fun time to go. Other posts mention that early October is still a great time to go. Would our week fall into that? However if the weather and closures are not looking good that time of the month, it may be best to try another time. Any suggestions on other road trips in October? We would be based out of SLC so looking more in the western US/Canada. If this week would still be a good time to go, then we would love to just go for it! Thanks for your guys' info and responses.

Also if you have any tips, must-sees, etc....PLEASE POST :)
