Port Hawkesbury and the causeway is in Cape Breton so I would suggest you spend your time there exploring the Cabot Trail and Lousibourg. Whale Watching out of Pleasant Bay or Cheticamp.
just an FYI, the International Buskers Festival is in Halifax from 8/4-8/14. So if that interests you, you will be there at the right time.
If doing the Busker Festival, make sure you make reservations asap - especially on the weekend of the festival.
yes, thank u, hotel reservation made for Halifax Busker's fest, any other reservation i need to make beside hotel for Busker's?
No, you don't need any other reservations for Buskers!

If you like seafood you will enjoy the Chowder House in Neil's Harbour, a little village in northern Cape Breton. It's not fancy, but it is right on the docks in a working fishing village - and they serve whole clams!! Yummy!
If you really like out of the way places, try camping at Meat Cove, in the extreme north of Cape Breton. Very isolated.
There's a lot to think about in your post! I'll write more when something relevant occurs to me!
Many Thanks for ur input for yummy food and camp site!
