Alberta Warning

Jump to last reply

No, I don't advise people to avoid Alberta. However, if anyone is vacationing there in the next week, please be aware that an oil town in northern Alberta, Fort McMurray, has been evacuated because of a wildfire. All 80,000 people have had to flee, and many thousands of them have gone to Edmonton, the nearest large city. So if your plans include a stop in Edmonton, check on hotel/car rental reservations.
