Alberta Rockies - where to stay in Banff or Lake Louise area with teenagers

Jump to last reply

Hello fellow travelers!

Going to Banff/Lake Louise area for a few days soon - July 30 to 3rd - and was looking for recommendations on lodges or hotels. Looking to be more rustic and in the woods, away from the crowds versus Banff Springs or Fairmont.

Single mom, 50, and two teenagers, 16 and 19. We are light outdors people (versus uber outdoors, rappelling down caves types). So two to three hour hikes, rafting, canoing kind of activities.

Any suggestions on accomodations? I'm eyeing Johnston Canyon Resort. Thoughts?

Also, any "must do" activities while we're there?

Thank you for any guidance!
