Air Canada vs Westjet for flight to Barbados from Toronto

Any first hand adivce/opinions on which carrier to use for a flight from Toronto to Barbados. We are from US, but willing to fly out of Toronto for the non stop flight next
February.

Happy crews, smiling faces, then West Jet!! Same old, same old AC..May be different on a Carribean flight but AC would not be my first choice unless the $ was better and the schedule both ways was better. In and out of Canada means customs and immigration then another back into USA although it will be at the Toronto airport if you are flying.

I just read an article in a Toronto paper that noted that Air Canada Vacations often offers cheaper seats than Air Canada, although they could be on the same flight. No experience with this myself but worth a look. Basically it is a charter operation, so I don't now how far in advance they would be publishing fares.

Airport Parking charges may cancel out any savings you get by using Toronto...

Thank you for your responses. I choice WestJet based on pricing, schedule and non stop flights. Driving in from Pennsylvania. Will do park and fly. So... the next question.. suggested hotels at Toronto airport?? We stayed there once years ago at what was the Venture Inn. Adequate.
Im sure things have changed greatly over the years for properties in the airport area. Thank you in advance for some
suggestions on hotels. The non stop flight from Toronto was our key factor to go out of Toronto .

You can shop around on the Internet looking for an airport hotel that would include parking.

Would it not be easier and a shorter drive just to fly from Buffalo or do they not do non stop? Border security can be tricky. This past winter. the roads were so bad , going north to Canada to get a flight south might not be great if weather is bad.

I still think you're crazy... If you are staying in Toronto for a night, why not just fly pittsburgh to miami, spend a night in florida and then catch the AM flight to barbados...

you save several hours driving, border security, airport customs both ways, the chance for bad weather, cancelled flights, and you pick up another night in Florida... think it over... I would hate to read your trip report about being stuck in a Toronto snow storm...

Appreciate your comments from all. The main reason we are using Toronto is because of the non-stop flight. I could fly
from Pittsburgh/Buffalo/ or Cleveland, but all of those would
have connections. They are all potential problems for snow storms and cancelled flights as well, possibly missing my conection. So.. we shall see how it all plays out. Thanks again.
