Has anyone done this recently? We are looking to do this Dec 2012. I see they fly 777's now on this route. Also, when checking it says "the route is operated by another carrier" - any idea who?
I did find this blog, which shows an actual AC 777.
What is International First Class like on CA?
I am also posting this in Air Travel and Asia.
Thanks~

I am headed to Hong Kong on Nov 6. I booked through Cheap Tickets and we leave Toronto and it shows Air Canada but it is actually a United flight as they are both Star Alliance.
Were they really "cheap", irecommend?
Yes. Not too bad
Toronto-Hong Kong
week later Hong Kong- Jeju Island South Korea
2 weeks later Jeju Island-Beijing
1 week later Beijing-Toronto
$1500 total
WOW! That seems to fit the description of cheap! Thanks for the suggestion~
I've taken a couple of long distance Air Canada flights in Executive First on the 777--Hong Kong-Toronto and Toronto-Buenos Aires return, The 777s were the first to have the "pods" or as AC now calls them "Executive First Suites" I found them very comfortable and the AC service excellent. One drawback if you are travelling with a companion is that the suites are somewhat isolated and it is more difficult to chat than in the old side-by-side seats. I think that these suites are now fitted for most of AC's long-haul routes. Certainly for Vancouver-Hong Kong. You can find a description of the suites here:

irecommend: Are you travelling Toronto-Hong Kong direct? If so, it will be Air Canada as United does not operate that route. I expect that you are connecting somewhere in the US (O'Hare?) with the United flight as an AC code-share. I assume that for $1500 return you are not travelling First. If you are, tell us how to do it!
