2 days in Annapolis Valley or day trip?

Travelling with my family for the first time to see relatives. Our two young sons 2 and 4.
We are spending a few days in Halifax to see family and in Cape Breton to see more family. We were thinking it would be great to run to Annapolis valley to see the French heritage sites, bay of fundy and overall scenic veiws. The question is ...
Is this a trip to send at a bed and breakfast for a night or is this a day trip?
Been around Halifax and Cape Breton, but never in this direction and thought to ask.
Thoughts?

Travelling towards Annapolis Valley from Cape Breton the actual distance need to covered is 496KM which can be covered in a 1(day) its takes hardly 6-7 Hours to reach. So be ready to travel towards Annapolis Valley direction without worrying.

Since it is a long drive from Cape Breton to the Annapolis Valley I would spend one night. However from Halifax to Annapolis Valley it would take approximately one hour to visit Grand Pre, Bay of Fundy, and Cape Blomidon near Wolfville. If you wish to visit the French shore near Digby, it would take an overnight trip.

Do think it would be a worth the trip or should we stick around the Halifax area?
Traveling in the 2nd week of August?
Bang for the buck sort of question?

If you plan on visiting relatives in Halifax and Cape Breton, why not take a day trip to the Valley as far as Wolfville from Halifax? It is only an hour and you can see where the Acadians were expelled in Grand Pre, plus see the Bay of Fundy from Evangeline Beach, or Hall's Harbour which is closer to Kentville and enjoy a lobster lunch. You can plan this trip upon arrival in Halifax depending on how much time you have and your young children.

Yup Scotia is right!!! You should plan for a Valley because its an hour trip instead of sticking at Halifax go and explore the valley its a wonderful experience. And i hope this trip helps to relax you and your family from daily routine.
