Hello!! I was wondering if anyone could help us with some recommendations for a week in the Whitsundays. It's part of our 4-week honeymoon in Australia and we are looking at a mix of sailing on a boat and staying at a resort.
We are not sure how long we should spend on each and whether doing both may be a bit repetitive for a whole week. Any activities we should look into?
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Ah, we would be there at the beginning of November.
Thanks!!
Amaya

i'm not sure if it is still sailing but we went out for 4 nights i believe on the solway lass, an early 20th C tall ship to cruise around the whitsundays. i believe there are 2 private cabins on the boat. we had one. it was a nice break for my partner an i in the middle of 5 weeks of couple alone travel to have a mid trip break w/ a group of congenial folks. we both thought the diving and snorkeling was better in the whitsundays than the time ( rough weather) we spent on the GBR out of cairns
cheers
and congrats

Thanks AndrewDavid, any idea what the boat agency was called?

We are thinking about doing three nights on a boat and three nights on an island.
Any recommendations on a resort to stay at? We've been told Heron Island but have seen a lot around Hayman or Hamilton... Are they very touristic? We wouldn't like to go to a place that is heaving with tourists for this part of the trip as it will be our "real" honeymoon..
Advise much appreciated!!
