We are planning a trip to the Cook Islands, probably Raratonga and Aitutaki. We like small private without children. We also like to be close to a place we can snorkel. Any advice? Also, how many days at each? Thanks

There are a wide variety of places on Rarotonga, considerably less choice on Aitutaki. What's your daily budget for accomodations? Places on both islands can vary from inexpensive backpacker type places to rather luxurious and pricey bungalows. Here are some of the latter:

I personally prefer a 2-1 split of time favoring Raro. Others feel just the opposite. What time of year are you going? That may make a difference as Aitutaki is warmer (not a factor during their summer (Dec-Mar) but may be a factor in winter (June-Sept)).
