Wheelchair travel "Down Under"
Can anyone suggest a travel agent located "Down Under" who could help us set up an individualized tour for us? My husband requires a wheelchair. We love nature and wildlife, do not enjoy crowded cities or tours to structures/churches, etc, and will not travel in large groups. Would NZ be too strenuous/physical for us? We are trying to get ideas for a trip of 3 wks duration, but it is so hard for the disabled! Thanks for any thoughts.

I know nothing about this website so cannot make any recommendation about it but it may help you find a suitable agent - http://www.accessibility.com.au/sydn...l/tragents.htm
I have also just posted on your cruising thread about the possibility of going to Canberra.

Dear Shandy-
I really appreciate your feedback. I've already just sent out an e-mail to one of the agents represented on that website. If he can't help, I'll try a few more. I'm not really sure if Canberra is our kind of thing, but I'm open to suggestions!

Hi, Beachmama, we used this travel agency in 2004 and had excellent service. Our agent was different from Sali Bonnell, but we have also dealt with her about our upcoming trip and she has been quick to respond, does extra duty for us, and generally helpful. Don't know if she has any expertise in travel with a person in a wheelchair, but you can ask. Her email is [email protected]
and they are located in Brisbane. The website is www.globenettravel.com.au . Good luck!

I have not personally had any contact with this agency, but they are registered on the Government "Disability On Line" site and may be able to assist you in planning your travels.
Good luck, Cheers

They do individual trips, pick up from airport/hotels or groups. I know they do trips from here to the USA and to Europe. Good luck
