Tiger Air and Baggage Fees

Jump to last reply

I've tried finding this information on Tiger Air's website, but it seems hidden. I'd like to know if I can add baggage to my flight at any time after it is booked for the "discount" price. Or do I have to add it at the time of booking in order to avoid the per kilo excess charges? I'm not sure how much luggage I'll have this far in advance. Also, am I understanding correctly that each passenger gets two items under 7 kg free of charge? Do they actually weigh these things? Will my brain ever be able to convert kg to lbs more easily? Ha.

Not sure why you couldn't find it -- clearly stated on the website:

Passengers who have not pre-booked Luggage Upsize™ online at the time of booking have the option of doing so by calling the call centre or via manage my booking up to four (4) hours prior to departure. Passengers who do not exercise this option up to 4 hours prior to departure can still do so at the airport on the day of departure but will be limited to purchase only the 15kg luggage tier and will be charged the prevailing airport rate. Additional weight in excess of 15kg will be subjected to the prevailing excess baggage charges. Additional weight in excess of 15kg will be subjected to the prevailing excess luggage charges.

You are therefore encouraged to book your luggage requirements online at the time of making your flight booking to enjoy the lowest rates, as doing so at the airport will cost more.

Those passengers who pay the Luggage Upsize™ fee at the time of booking or up to 4 hours before departure are not entitled to a refund of the fee in the event that they do not travel or do not carry the upsized luggage allowance of checked-in luggage.
