Sydney Public Transport Opal Card?

Jump to last reply

We will be in Sydney for a total of six nights. Will arrive on the Indian Pacific and could probably use public transport to get within easier walking distance of our hotel (Radisson Blu). We prefer to us public transport when possible and am wondering if we should even bother with either ordering Opal cards in advance or try to get them after arrival. I see there are numerous types of paper tickets we could still buy prior to 1 January and we arrive in town on 30 December.

Any advice would be appreciated and thank you in advance.
