Solo in North Stradbroke Island

Jump to last reply

Hi. I have a business trip to Brisbane in the last week of November ; starting on a Tuesday so I'm planning to land in weekend on the Saturday morning so I have 2-3 days to explore. As I'd like to get my "nature fix", I'm planning on going to either Stradbroke of Moreton Island straight from the international airport ; spend 1 or 2 nights there and go back to Brisbane either Sunday night or Monday morning. At this point, I'm inclined to go with Stradbroke island as it seems easier to explore/move around the island on my own -- I do not plan to rent a car.

1 - Moreton or Stradbroke ? My considerations are : easier to get to and from Brisbane as I don't want to spend much time on commutes ; ease of moving around the island ; availability of places to stay (I'm hoping to go with value/affordable places -- camping if anybody provides tents).

2. Best places to stay ?

3. Activities / places ? It's a "nature escape" for me so planning to hike/bike/swim in the beaches or the lakes, snorkel/scuba dive if possible, etc

Thank you

Eric
