Hello! When in Bangkok last year I enquired about the gleaming new Sofitel across the river from the Sheraton. I was told that there was a good chance that the hotel would be demolished as it is slowly sinking into the riverbank and was thought to be very dangerous. The building had only just been completed!! This situation may have been re-assessed????? If not it may explain why you can't find any information??
I heard another (similar) story on this hotel last summer in Bangkok: it was almost finished when they realized that the whole project would never be profitable, due to the excess of room capacity in Bangkok and the beginning of the economic crisis...
