From my research, I've heard bad things about the location of the garden bungalows at the sheraton. I've heard that pearl beach and intercontinental beachcomber are better for garden and beach bungalows, but that sheraton is better for owb's. Hope that helps! I've found that consistantly from others so I think it's one thing that's for sure.

I stayed at Sheraton Moorea in September 2003. I stayed in a beach bungalow for one night, an OWB for 5 nights and then I was moved to a garden-view bungalow for day-use the day I departed. (My flight did not leave till the evening) The garden-view bungalows are spread out from some being right next to the beach bungalows to far back toward the street. The one we were in for day-use backed up right to the wall over which was the main road. (Which is actually amazingly loud because people drive by at astonishing speeds!) Also, there is Le Truck which goes around early morning and in the evening for the locals (and anyone who wishes) and those are typically large schoolbuses which make a lot of noise, so I would say that being in one of those garden bungalows would NOT be nice. BUT, if you can secure one of the garden bungalows closer to the beach bungalows, they are nicely landscaped and about the same walking distance to the pool/beach area. I'm guessing here, but the farthest garden bungalows are probably 100yds from the beach and the closest garden bungalows to the beach are about 30yds. Having stayed in all three types, the OWBS are definitely the best. HOWEVER, there are about 3 (?) beach bungalows, which could technically be OWBS except they are only about 50-60% over the water, but still have the deck/shower for direct access to the lagoon. Get a map of the property (easy to find on the internet I think)-- they are the beach bungalows furthest away from the pool/lobby -- to the EAST. We stayed in a true beach bungalow which was not bad either -- easy access to the pool and lagoon without the LOOOONNNNNGGGG walk out to some of the OWB. Hope this helps!
