We will be headed from Picton to Ship Cove with Cougar Line early in the morning to start our hiking along the Queen Charlotte track but will have no supplies for the first day. Can anyone make a suggestion on where we can pick up some great sandwihces or picnic supplies in Picton? Thank you!

Trip Ideas
I've never had any 'great' food in Picton, but there are a few options.
There's a small grocery store in Picton on the main road. There's also a Subway sandwich shop near the ferry terminal, but I don't know what time they open. There's also at least one bakery on the main street and a tearoom/cafe on the corner of the main street and the foreshore that makes sandwiches.
All of these are within walking distance of the watertaxi departure point.
If you have a car, your options increase somewhat, although I can't think of anyplace specific at the moment.
Thanks so much! Through the Intenet I was able to find a sandwich restaurant called Gusto. Since we have a car we were thinking of phoning in a sandwich order to them for pick up.
