It's good for the economy and those in the tourism industry.
But for us who live here things will change. We will have to get used to booking well in advance for our holidays.
Not really a big deal but I have been surprised when looking for flights or accommodation how often everything is booked up. It was impossible to get a hotel in Wellington in February.
One important issue is the safety of drivers on New Zealand roads who are not familiar with driving on the left or our road conditions.

I've noticed the "high season" has extended out further and further just in the last 5 years! It used to be just 5 weeks from Christmas to the end of January. Now it's until the middle of March!
Part of the appeal of New Zealand was lack of crowds. Now that may be a thing of the past. I hope NZ isn't shooting itself in the foot.
