New Zealand trip, Nov 2014 Part 2

Thanks again for the previous suggestions and all the other postings. I have a revised itinerary and would appreciate comments - am I including too much? I also need help on how much time to spend on the upper west coast Greymouth - FJ area.

1. Arrive Auckland and fly/drive to Rotorua - 3 nights there
2. Drive to Wellington - 3 nights there
3. Fly to Christchurch - my thought is to rent car there and go across Arthur Pass to Greymouth but I don't know if we can get an early enough flight from Wellington to allow this. If not we could spend 1 day in CChurch and leave next day or spend 2 nights in CC rather than at the end of the trip.
Is it worthwhile driving north from Greymouth to see the Pancake Rocks and should we do that same day or early before leaving for FJ?
4. Drive to FJ Glacier - 2 nights
5. Wanaka - 3 nights
6. Te Anua - 3 nights
7. Arrowtown - 3 nights
8. Oamaru - 2 nights
9. CChurch - either drive directly from Oamaru to the airport if timing is ok (would be flying back to San Francisco) or spend 2 days here now rather than earlier as mentioned above.

That is about 21 or 22 days by my calculation.
This way we will not go to Mt Cook but from what I have read on this site, to experience the wonderful scenery, walks, photography opportunities etc the west coast is the place to be.

Thanks again,
