My wife and I are visiting our son in Tonga in June. We thought we'd all spend a week in New Zealand as a family vacation. Will the weather be a problem for us in NZ this time of year? If so, any suggestions?
Thanks.

It's winter so anything goes...the SI will be colder than the NI and the south of the SI could be very cold. The north of the SI gets lots of sunshine year round, but air temps might be a bit chilly. Expect rain anytime, anywhere.
We're visiting in June too - we've visited in the winter before and we embraced the weather, but we like the cold stuff, so it depends on what you consider a problem.
No such thing as bad weather - just wrong clothes.
The wet caving adventures will be cold but other than that, dress warm and you will have a great time.
Coming from Tonga it will feel cold - coming from Antarctica it will feel warm.
We have been in June and July and had no problems. A little bit of snow on one road and a little bit of rain. But the rest was crisp blue sky weather.
Ok, thanks for your thoughts/comments.
