Melbourne Tram riders and visitors

Jump to last reply

This may be useful to visitors planning a visit after January.

http://www.premier.vic.gov.au/media-centre/media-releases/9471-free-cbd-trams-cheaper-trains-and-buses-for-melbourne.html

Until recently, the city circle tram was free and still is. But starting in January, 2015, all CBD (downtown) and Docklands trams will now be free to board with no ticket or card (Myki) necessary.

See the map in the link for where you can ride free of charge.
