Melbourne Airport / Rental Car Question

Jump to last reply

Quick question about the international and domestic car terminals at Melbourne Tullamarine. I will be arriving late to the Melbourne Airport on an International flight June 22. The flight gets in at 10:30pm, but the international car desks all seem to close at 11pm. I don't foresee being able to deboard the plane, and make it to the rental car desk in half hours time. The domestic car desks are open until midnight, so my question is: Can I just arrange to pick up at the domestic desk? Is it possible to get to those from the International flight area? I will be dropping off at the domestic side anyway when leaving Melbourne.

The hotel that night is about 15 minutes away, so worst case I could take a taxi that evening to the hotel. However, I would like to get on the road early the next morning to start the GOR drive, so if I could get the rental car taken care of the night before when I get in rather than having to deal with it the next morning, that would be ideal.
