Hi! I'm trying to decide on a holiday apartment in Port Douglas for August. I have narrowed it down to Martinique on Macrossan, Hibiscus Gardens, or Bay Villas Resort. The first two look nicer, and Bay Villas is only slightly cheaper. Can anyone comment on the quality and location of these. We'd like to be central to the town and walking distance to the port and beach.

Can't comment on Martinique or Bay Villa but have stayed twice at Hibiscus Gardens and been very happy. Its perfectly located, about 300m from the beach, one block behind the main street (Macrossan) and abt 500m from the port. The rooms are good, with kitchenettes, andf there are 2 pools.
Anyone stay at any of the others? Thanks!
We haven't stayed at any of these places but stayed a few doors down from Hibiscus Gardens at the Port Douglas Queenslander. Martinique on Macrossan is actually on the main street of Port Douglas, at the beach end so you would be slightly closer to the beach and shops/restaurants but it could be noisier with traffic. Hibiscus is on a quieter street and still only about 3 mins walk to the main street, 5 mins walk to the beach and 5 mins to the marina where the boats leave for the reef trips. If you do a search on this forum there have been lots of comments about Hibiscus.
