Is 355 Kent Street within walking distance to Circular Quay and near Wynyard Station? I am getting a good weekly rate for an apartment in the REX building in Kent Street.

I don't know the specific building but 355 is near the corner of King Street and within walking distance of Wynyard Station. To get there you'd take an easy 3-block walk uphill to George Street, Sydney's main N-S artery, turn left and walk a few hundred metres - say 10 minutes. Or there's a somewhat shorter route (2 blocks to York Street, then Wynyard, then Carrington) that takes you into the station's rear entrance. Circular Quay is perhaps another 15 minutes' walk depending how spry you feel. You can always take a bus down George Street.
Have these apartments opened? Their web site is still under construction - hopefully the building isn't. I couldn't find a White Pages entry online.
The building is called "REX" and is apparently quite new with Pool / Gym - the works! The rates are quite competitive compared to the competition.
My only concern was the location.
I used to work at 309 Kent St and Wynyard is the nearest station.
I'm not familiar with the building but its a good location, easy to walk to Circular Quay, The Rocks and Darling Harbour

Geordie - small world! I worked at 309 Kent St (Telecom PABX branch) 1980-82. The Occidental on Kind & York was our local pub, I remember.
Neil - Small world indeed, the Occidental is still going strong
