Lookng for flight from Cairns to Adelaide on 4/2/07 and does Jetstar not fly on Mondays? Great rate for Sunday and Tuesday but tried several Mondays and no flights.
Looking for best rate I can get.

Hi Brian - I'm sure they fly on Mondays but it's a popular day. You know - long weekend stuff.
You could try virginblue if you haven't already. And funnily enough, sometimes the mainstream Qantas brand has competitive prices if you book early on one of their red e-deals,
And it could even be a little early especially if we are talking April not Feb - can't tell from the date you give.
Happy hunting and good luck.

I thought July looking for a April 2 flight was far enough out. Even Virgin Blue is showing sold out for several mid day times on that date.
Can't tell if their just holding back or demand is that strong already for April.

What on earth is going on in Australia on that date? I checked Virgin Blue, and four of the seven flights Cairns to Adelaide are sold out. There are flights at AU 199 (~US 150).
Since you have a lot of time before you travel, you may want to check out VB's Happy Hour fares. For one hour each day, fares on certain flights on certain dates are greatly reduced. Happy Hour is from noon to 1 pm AEST, which is 7 to 8 pm on the West coast of the US. You have to check daily for your route and date to show up.

Brian, the difference between the way Americans and (I think) everyone else write numerical dates causes no end of misunderstanding. In Australia it's always in day-month-year order.
Come to think of it, you could almost write a book on US-vs-the rest practices as revealed in Fodors chat. Dates, weights and measures, mobile phones (cellphones), A4 vs. US letter paper dimensions - the list goes on. The simple rule is that Australia and NZ follow European/international practice in all these areas.

re dates - mmddyy - only the Americans - oh, maybe not - how do the Canadians do it?
But to save confusion maybe posters would like to state dates as 2 Apr 07 or whatever, or state at the beginning of a post exactly what date format they are using.
Bit like a computer program - hey - state it up front - I am using ddmmyy or mmddyy.
Then we'd all know.

2nd April is clashing with school holidays. Victorian schools break up on the Friday 30th March.
Jetstar have just had a really good sale (1/2 price) guessing lots of people are taking advantage and heading away.
