Inexpensive-Moderate hotel/inn in Tokyo

My husband and I are going to Tokyo beginning of October and are considering staying at the Miyako Inn. Can anyone give me any input about this establishment? Or does anyone have any other recomnmendations for us? We will also be going to Kyoto, so would appreciate recommendations for that city as well.
